Osteoporosis

Exercise to keep your bones strong.

Osteoporosis is a skeletal condition where your bone quality and strength is reduced, leading to increased risk of fractures. Over time, our bones constantly renew and replace old bone with new bone to keep our skeleton strong. Osteoporosis occurs when minerals, such as calcium, are lost from our bones before our body can replace them, resulting in a reduction in bone thickness or density. One in three women will suffer from a broken bone as a result of developing osteoporosis, particular after menopause. Management of osteoporosis can include medications, supplements, diet change and of course exercise!
